Friday Love Letters…

image Often times holidays take on a meaning of their own, and July 4th is no different.  We put on our red, white and blue.  Proudly fly our nation’s flag.  Invite friends over to grill.  Watch some fireworks and talk about good times.

But we should celebrate our nation each and every day! Not superficially once a year.

The American Flag is our nation’s most noticeable symbol.  Fittingly so, with each color and the stars and strips representing different elements of the American way.  But, as I explain to you how much I love this country we call home, I’ll tell you want the colors mean to me.  The red represents all the blood that has been given and is still being shed to ensure this great land stays free.  White stands for all the innocents and the honor of those protecting it.  Blue signifies the justice that is fought for every single day, by people like your Daddy.  The valor of those soldiers giving everything and expecting nothing in return.  This justness helps to solidify honesty, integrity, and uprightness extended to all citizens in this nation under God.

No, we don’t live in a perfect nation with perfect people.  But, when imperfect people come together with valor and vigilance, we will stand a unified nation - ONE nation under God.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

Our God is slow to anger and is abounding in love and faithfulness.  If we will but seek Him, we can be greater tomorrow than we are today.

How great a privilege it is to be an American!

GoD bLeSs AmErIcA!

You are loved my sweet boy and I know you will do your part in honoring this great nation God has entrusted to his children.
